House Rules

We hope you have a pleasant stay and we trust our guests to be reasonable and look after the property as if it is their own. The house rules and guidelines are :

Only the stated number of people on the booking are allowed to stay at the cottage – this is a maximum of eight persons including young children- any unauthorised guests staying overnight will result in you being asked to leave the property without refund or compensation.

WE ARE A NON SMOKING HOUSE – please do not smoke or vape inside the house – extra cleaning charges will apply if the house smells of smoke.

i) No pets are allowed – if you bring pets then you will be asked to leave the property immediately without refund or compensation.

ii) Please do not use the fireplaces in any circumstances.

iii) Central heating. If needed we run an autocycle and please leave it on – do not change the settings (they are complicated). You can control the temperature on each radiator.

iv) Wherever possible please use the outside washing line if weather permits and not the tumble dryer as it is environmentally much better. Also, note the drying machine collects water in a cassette ( top righthand side ) and needs to be emptied after each use as well as the lint in the door opening.

v) We provide an initial range of cleaning products and toilet paper. Please purchase additional items when you have settled in as required.

vi) Rubbish management. The French system is environmentally friendly. Separate out plastic and cardboard into the green plastic bag provided, bottles into the black plastic bucket by the door and other waste goes into the black bin liners. You are responsible for disposing of rubbish and can do this by taking the bags and bottles to the rubbish disposable points marked on the map.

vi) No Shoes inside. Please take your shoes off and leave them in the entrance area. This helps to keep the house clean

vi) Please do strip the bed when leaving and leave by the washing machine. Also, please wash-up all items before you leave and put back into place or if that is not possible (e.g. time constraints) then leave the unclean items in the dishwasher.

You must keep the property and all furniture, fittings, facilities, equipment and grounds in the same state of repair and condition as at the commencement of the holiday, and in the same state of cleanliness and general order in which it was found.

vii) In common with most of rural France, we are serviced by a septic tank. It is important that no sanitary, chemicals or baby items are flushed down the toilets and only French toilet paper is used (English toilet paper is apparently indigestible to the septic tank flora!) Only toilet cleaners suitable for septic tanks may be used. However, we will supply 1 toilet roll for each en-suite and cleaner for you during your stay.

viii) Barbeque – If used please clean the BBQ thoroughly after each use and before leaving the property ( if the BBQ is left dirty or requires extra cleaning there will be a 30 pounds fee taken from the deposit).

ix) Return the key to the key box when leaving and please ensure it is shut.

x) Check out time is 10am and the earliest arrival time is 3pm French time.

xi) If you break or damage something we will deduct the replacement amount from the security deposit.

xii) We provide detailed instructions and local information in the guest information folders. You will also have a local contact for immediate support if needed.

We are not responsible for any valuables left at the property. and they are left at your own risk. Please ensure that all doors and windows are locked when you leave the property. No refund will be given if you decide to vacate the property due to theft.

Do enjoy your stay and please treat The cottage with love and care as it is first and foremost a family home. If you need support during your stay please contact the Property Manager in the first instance as they will be most able to help you.
